Where structure and architecture strengthen each other
After an inspiring first session, we picked up right where we left off, this time focusing on the connection between structure and architecture.
From 8:30h onwards, students arrived at SBE HQ for coffee & breakfast, ready for a full day of inspiration, creativity and collaboration.
We kicked off the day with a presentation on how structure and architecture are deeply intertwined. Not just theory, but real insights:
How does a structural choice influence architectural design? And how does architecture shape structural solutions?
After the introduction, it was time to dive back into the workshop. Teams continued refining their designs, guided by our engineers. Concepts evolved, decisions were sharpened and ideas became more concrete.
During the round table feedback session, participants received targeted input to strengthen their projects even further, a valuable moment of reflection and progress.
Following lunch at our SBE Café, the afternoon lecture focused on material use. Participants explored how material choices are not only technical decisions but can also enhance architectural expression.
Armed with new insights, the teams returned to their designs. The day concluded with wrap-up presentations and a Q&A session, where ideas were shared and questions explored in depth.
And, as always at SBE, we ended the day in style with an after-work at the SBE Café.
On 20 March, we welcome everyone back for the third and final workshop day: jury moment and award ceremony included.
We can’t wait to see the final results.
Stay tuned!
