Yesterday, on June 28, the award ceremony of the SBE Student Challenge 2022 took place. We can finally share the names of the winners with you!

The winners

About four months after the launch of our competition, the moment finally arrived yesterday! During a company event for the #teamsbe employees, the winner of the SBE Student Challenge was announced at the closing moment. Or should we say winners, as there were also other category prizes to be won.

The winner of the SBE Student Challenge 2022 is Team TVB!

The category prize laureates are:

  • Best Design: Team TVB

  • Best Urban and Landscape Integration: Team KaMa

  • Best Structural Execution: Team KaMa

Congratulations to the winners Gaetan Van Beversluys and Hannes Torrekens (Team TVB) and the category laureates Robbe Kaljouw, Eline Maton, and Tomas Pauwels (Team KaMa)!

We would also like to sincerely thank all the other #studentsatplay for their participation.

The winning design

The winning design was not chosen lightly. The jury appreciated how the winning team provided a smart, cohesive solution addressing both technical and environmental challenges. This results in a dynamic experience for the bridge users. The custom-designed architecture of the bridge reflects the surrounding environment while simultaneously adding a strong new identity.

After the award ceremony, these winning designs were showcased by our #expertsatplay, who had the opportunity to ask the winners plenty of questions. Of course, we are also happy to share the winning designs with you:
